ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Hydraulic structures like storm surge barriers are essential for water safety/flood protection. Hence it is important to keep them in operation in the most efficient way during its Life Cycle. A peer review is an asset management tool which has been developed within I-STORM (network of professionals on storm surge barriers) based on a tried and tested method of WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators). The tool has been used for several hydraulic structures and evaluated to assess cost and benefits of the peer review tool. This paper will describe the method and results of the evaluation.
