ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The effect of Nano-CaCO3 (NC) on the hydration, durability and strength development of the Portland cement with a high volume of fly ash is studied. The compressive strength, porosity, hydration products, carbonation depth and diffusion coefficient of chloride of the binder are characterized. The results show that the addition of NC can improve greatly the compressive strength of the materials both at the early and later stages. It also refines the porosity, promotes the hydration process of the binder and improves the concrete durability.
