ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: This paper analyzes the runoff variation trend of the Dongting Lake by using the Mann-Kendall trend test. The analysis showed that the runoff of four rivers in China had been changing during the period from 1951 to 2011, and their annual runoff trends fluctuated but did not exceed the confidence intervals. Thus, the reported change was not significant. The flow variation of Songzikou occurred in 1985; since then, the runoff trend had been showing significant downward changes. The flow variation of Taipingkou also took place in 1985, and exceeded the confidence interval threshold in 1990, showing a significant downward trend. The runoff trend of Ouchikou exceeded the confidence interval threshold in 1989, exhibiting a significant downward trend.
