ABSTRACT
Nursing care within the harsh environment of an aircraft cabin is not the sole responsibility of nurses and, although they are the most effective practitioners, a nurse is not always present during the transfer to deliver this type of care. This chapter utilizes a systems-based model to provide an overview of elements of nursing care related specifically to the flight environment, enabling the reader (who may not be a nurse) to identify solutions to some of the more common nursing care problems.
