ABSTRACT

Recently, there have been extensive efforts at understanding and improving collaborative planning within contexts of globalized and neoliberal uncertainty (e.g. Angotti 2008; Healey 1997; Short 1996). Many of these efforts have revealed the existence of formal and ad-hoc partnership arrangements involving multiple people and entities (Pierre 1998; Walzer and Jacobs 1998). In this paper, I use a qualitative storytelling approach to research the reasons why different socio-economic and geopolitical sectors work together to define, promote, and implement urban revitalization strategies.
