1 DELEUZE’S DESERT(?) ISLAND
As always with Deleuze, the desert island is an imaginary place, selected and intended to be isolated. The process of its selection and isolation is crucial as it revitalizes our imagination and prepares us to redefine the world by making space in constant transformation, within the forces of flow, repetition, and re-creation. In his effort to reflect on the causes of the island, the French philosopher begins with the description of the two kinds of islands-continental and oceanic-according to geographers.
