ABSTRACT
Dentistry is among one of the most performed procedures in the veterinary practice. Dental patients range from overall healthy, young animals for dental prophylaxis to aged animals with concurrent diseases for multiple dental work-up and extractions. The overall death rate associated with anesthesia in dogs is estimated at between 0.11% and 0.43%. This rate increases as the animal’s age increases.
