ABSTRACT
Polynomials can be solved by any of the methods for solving nonlinear equations. However, the special features of polynomials should be taken into account.
Multiple roots can be evaluated using Newton's basic method or its variations. Complex roots can be evaluated by Newton's method or the secant method by using
complex arithmetic and complex initial approximations. Complex roots can also be evaluated by Bairstow's method for quadratic factors.
