ABSTRACT

Organizational diagnosis involves data gathering and analysis with an aim to feed the collected data back to a client organization to initiate a change effort. Without a model, practitioners must rely on their hunch when identifying the data to collect. With a model, it becomes possible to collect and analyze data with a clear mechanism. A model involves key variables of an organization such as strategy, task, people, and process. Usually models have graphical representations, clearly depicting the relationships among organizational variables. Models allow organization development (OD) practitioners and clients to understand a complex issue in a simplistic manner.
