ABSTRACT

The success of the technique mainly arises from its multielemental capability, low cost, and the simplicity of working in atmospheric or low-pressure environments, as well as its ability to detect various components in a great variety of matrices. Despite the versatility of LIBS in the analytical applications, the physical processes of laser ablation and laser-induced plasma formation are yet fully understood. One of them is to apply metal-assisted laser-induced plasma to decompose hydrocarbon molecules, which is an active field in plasma chemistry. The metal target-assisted laser-induced plasma with various hydrocarbon molecules is used for the purpose of the molecular decomposition and the conversion to the other hydrocarbons. Reyhani et al. have reported the methane decomposition during Pd-assisted laser-induced plasma in the controlled chamber at various pressures using nanosecond pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm. The determination of gold fineness is always an attractive subject in gold industry as well as exploration and mining.
