ABSTRACT
The offenders who increased in their use of blunt force were found to be different from the non-escalating rapists in their total number of assaults, the number of days between rapes, the degree of victim resistance experienced, and the presence of sadistic acts during their last assault. The first reason for rape escalating to homicide is that the offender is literally acting out a fantasy of murder. The escalation to homicide may simply be the offender’s spontaneous response to a victim’s resistance. In the author’s experience, the rapist is most likely an anger-motivated offender with a volatile temperament. A linear tracing of RW’s sexually oriented behaviors up to this point in time would include voyeurism, breaking and entering, cross-dressing, lingerie thefts, capturing victims, sexual bondage, photographing and making of videos, fondling and digitally assaulting, vaginal rape, anal assault, homicide, and necrophilia.
