ABSTRACT

As shown in Chapter 4, DNA shows relatively high ionic conductivity

under humidified conditions, which originates from the formation of

water bridges between DNA and water molecules. This means DNA

has the potential to be used as sensors and batteries, applying ion or

proton conduction. Especially, we can fabricate biofuel cells based

on the DNA electrolyte (DNA fuel cell) with proton conductivity.

In this section, we show the characteristics of fuel cells with DNA

films.
