ABSTRACT

290 Chrysoperla carnea, recognized as the common green lacewing, is an insect in the Chrysopidae family. The family Chrysopidae contains many species that could be considered as important biological control agent. Chrysopid larvae and the adults of certain species are polyphagous predators and feed on several pests of economic importance. The use of chrysopids in biological control has been enabled by the development of efficient mass rearing facilities for species bearing certain characteristics, such as Chrysoperla species. As we know, Chrysoperla sp. is a potential biological control agent; so advance studying the performance of Chrysoperla species under field condition could enhance their role in integrated pest management (IPM) program.
