ABSTRACT

In Chapter 2, we had a summary of few biofunctionalization approaches for nanosurfaces. In this chapter, we describe approaches for biomolecule immobilization in the perspective of antibodies. Our emphasis in this chapter is on the site-directed and oriented capture methods. We discuss the impact of immobilization strategy on the functionality of captured antibodies and their packaging densities. We also outline how specific immobilization strategies could be optimally employed to minimize variations in any diagnostics or in vivo targeting applications.
