ABSTRACT

The cognitive radio (CR) communication system is capable of collecting the information about its location, radio-frequency spectrums, and the present environment, so that it can decide and execute the predened objectives. In the case of spectrum utilization, the high priority licensed users are called primary users whereas the unlicensed users are termed as the secondary users who can also use the spectrum. CR is the most emerging issue in the wireless communications where a wireless node senses its environment including the spectrum holes. The cognitive radio networks (CRNs) establish the communication in an opportunistic manner by isolating the licensed users. The major difculties faced by a CRN include the efcient detection of spectrum holes and the interference with the network utilized by the primary users [1].
