ABSTRACT

In this chapter, Pfizer shares how they developed a standardized knowledge led process for not only capturing the lessons but actually enabling learning from these lessons within their product commercialization teams. Since 2012, the Pharmaceutical Sciences division within Pfizer has created and embedded a lessons learned process that has evolved over this period into a key component of divisional operational excellence. All lessons entering the lessons learned log (LLLog), from the project team CAPTURE sessions, were manually screened by the Lessons Learned Network (LLN) administrator and distributed to the most relevant LLN line representative for review. There is still an outstanding objective from the Lesson Learned 2.0 review; to enhance the value of the SEEK sessions for the project teams. Initially the SEEK sessions were put in place to share all relevant lessons from a particular phase of Co-Development. In practice there are effectively two types of lessons emanating from the CAPTURE sessions.
