ABSTRACT

In the past 10 years, the concept of sound integration has undergone a dramatic paradigm shift. Instead of providing lots of properties on how to play a sound the moment the game triggers it, sounds nowadays are data-driven and hold all important information within their authoring data. This has caused an important shift in responsibility toward the sound designers to design, author, debug, and implement sounds. This includes picking up dynamic changes from the game and manipulating sounds accordingly.
