ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a detailed introduction about animal experimentation and the fundamental experimental skills, such as route and method of administration and collection of body fluids. The application of animal experimental technology requires a high level of professional technology standards, which can be obtained through intensive and careful training under the guidance of experienced experts or animal experimental technicians. Injection techniques need to be learned under the guidance of professionals and technical personnel. The technique can then be implemented after training. Ectomy technique is commonly used in studies on the endocrine and immune system during animal experimentation. Biological telemetry is a technique of measuring animal physiological indexes without directly contacting the animal's body or performing traumatic experimentation. Decollation and cervical dislocation techniques are suitable for mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, dogs, cats, and birds; however, it is not suitable for big animals.
