ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book proposes a complete location ecosystem for future mobile smart life application, including hardwares, firmwares, algorithms, smartphone Apps, and cloud servers. The book also proposes a practical and accurate multi-modal step-by-step navigation eco-system, codenamded Guoguo, that assists the blind and visually impaired towards an independent and dignified lifestyle when navigating indoors. The prototype eco-system utilizes various software and hardware components to fill the long-lasting gap of indoor localization. The book focuses on the application of accessing the information automatically via context-awareness. The book focuses also on the infrastructure-based fine-grained approach. The book also proposes enabling techniques for three envisioned mobile smart life applications: helping the blind or other disabled to live independently via step-by-step navigation; accessing the information automatically via context-awareness; locating lost children or other group members via mobile crowd sensing.
