ABSTRACT

Repetitive strain injury (RSI) refers to “a soft tissue disorder caused by the overloading of particular muscle groups from repetitive use or maintenance of constrained posture” (Australia National Occupational Health Safety Commission, 1986). This definition attributes the injury to biomechanical exposure that has resulted in either frequent repetitive movements of the limbs or the maintenance of fixed postures for long periods (Hall and Morrow, 1988).
