ABSTRACT
The technologies discussed in this chapter have a direct relation to 4G and 5G wireless communications where Long-Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) plays a key role [5] while specific technologies like femtocells [7], multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), self-organized networks (SONs), and coordinated multipoint (CoMP) [6] add important details to the overall picture. The MultiConnect and GroupConnect technologies discussed in this chapter can be viewed as a practical tool that implements a combination of features from MIMO, SON, and CoMP technologies.
