ABSTRACT

Three documents are presented regulating the right of use of European Land Monitoring data managed by the European Environment Agency (EEA): (1) the EEA standard reuse policy (EEA, 2014); (2) legal provisions of the Grant Agreements between EEA and countries participating in Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) Initial Operations (GIO) Land (Sousa, 2014); and (3) Regulation (EU) No. 1159/2013 regarding the establishment of registration and licensing conditions for GMES users and defining criteria for restricting access to GMES dedicated data and GMES service information (EU, 2013).

Rights of use of the European CoORdination of Information on the Environment (CORINE) Land Cover (CLC) products introduced in Chapter 7 are governed by the EEA standard reuse policy. The following is the citation of the EEA website (EEA, 2014): “Unless otherwise indicated, reuse of content on the EEA website for commercial or non-commercial purposes is permitted free of charge, provided that the source is acknowledged.” The copyright holder is the EEA.
