ABSTRACT
Changes of land cover (LC), caused by various socioeconomic and natural processes, are presented for the individual periods of 1990-2000, 2000-2006, and 2006-2012 in Chapters 14 through 16. However, it is important to recognize and point to the main developments in the European landscape during the entire period 1990-2012. Therefore, the aim of this chapter is to provide an overview of seven important processes expressed through LC changes for nearly a quarter of a century.
