ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the idea of a customized eye model to complement the classical concept of the schematic eye. The goal of such models is to provide individual predictions of the full optical quality as accurate as possible (beyond the paraxial approximation). They can be used to anticipate the effects of any refractive procedure that might potentially modify the geometry of the elements of a specific eye model from a particular subject.
