ABSTRACT

In the last few years there has been a growing interest in the seismic behavior of ground anchors. An example of its practical application can be found in the reinforcement of landslides. The current article presents the results obtained from numerical models as well as from experimental tests. The numerical modeling is performed in PLAXIS, using 9 node triangular elements with total of 27 degrees of freedom. After the model is solved, the load-displacement curve is obtained. The procedure is done for different soil conditions. The experimental trials are conducted by the authors using shake table. The last one is created (by the authors) for the sole purpose of this test. The obtained results are compared to those from the numerical models. The diversity of the results is shown in series of graphs that take into account the overburden pressure, reference acceleration, water content and the bondlength anchor diameter ratio.
