Failure of a shear pile wall used for the stabilization of a long landslide

A method is employed in this paper for the computation of earth pressure mobilized by landslides against retention systems. The method combines the approach of Résal-Frontard with that of the analysis of infinites slopes. It is shown, depending on the length of the landslide, that the forces can reach very high values. A case study illustrates the principles discussed in the paper.
