ABSTRACT

In this paper we focus on the development of a class double scalar variables damage-based cohesive crack model, which is used in the numerical simulation of crack propagation of concrete dam under earthquake. Based on the physical basis which means the nonlinear behavior of concrete is result of microcracking, a class of double scalar variables damage-cohesive crack model is proposed in the framework of thermodynamics. Not only is the stress-displacement relationship at crack surface under the single-mode, but also the mixed-mode taken into account in the model. The model is applied to the analysis for cracking progress of concrete dam under earthquake with different peak acceleration.
