ABSTRACT

The Japan Society of Civil Engineering organized a subcommittee on “priority in maintenance and management of deteriorated concrete structures (JSCE-342)” from May 2010 to December 2015. This paper introduces a part of final report. Firstly, examples of the case study promoted under the flow of ideal maintenance are introduced. Next, modeling techniques to evaluate the structural performance of the deteriorated member is analyzed while differentiating it from a model used for the design of a healthy member. Furthermore, a method to investigate a substitution value of the performance evaluation model for the deteriorated member on site is analyzed. As results, the techniques from an inspection to a performance evaluation were discussed progressively. By the case study for bridges, a procedure of ideal maintenance management was also shown.
