ABSTRACT

A unique collaboration of assigning authorities and inspection consultants supported by SBRCURnet made it possible to come to a joint accordance, which is an agreement on the conditions, the coherence of tasks and needed knowledge for executing inspection and advisory activities of civil structures. This agreement is highly necessary to manage civil structural assets in a professional manner. The CUR-Recommendation 117 was issued in March 2015. The belonging inspection manuals (CUR handboeken inspectie) will be issued in steps until 2017. A modular setup of tasks with its conditions is created. On this basis the assigning authorities are able to formulate their particular need of inspection and provide advice for civil structures. The agencies understand the uniform and modular framework. The classification of inspection and advisory tasks linked to the knowledge give new opportunities to disclose knowledge by new methods f.i. of web based databases where inspection tooling can refer to. Alternatively it opens new ways to verify and validate the outcome of the inspection results. This paper describes the development, experience, and achievements of the CUR-Recommendation 117 for inspection and advice on civil structures.
