ABSTRACT

This LCA study follows the ISO 14040/44 methodology to identify life cycle environmental impacts of high rising residential buildings in Southeast China. The construction, operation, maintenance and demolition stages are assessed. This study estimate the life cycle inventory mainly by the tenders information of high rising residential buildings in southeast China during 2007- 2011 and the statistical data on household energy and water consumption in southeast China at 2013. The Ecoinvent database provides the background data to the analysis. The results indicate that 1) the operation is the main contribution of the most life cycle environmental impacts of high rising residential buildings in China. 2) The consumption of electricity and nature gas constitutes the main elements causing the life cycle GWP emission. 3) The aluminum window frame, concrete, steel, and concrete block are four main materials/component to produce embodied GWP.
