ABSTRACT

In order to use rationally the maintenance funds of highway bridges in the whole life cycle, maintenance strategy should be optimized. This paper has proposed the maintenance strategy by means of life cycle function and structural reliability simulation in civil engineering, analyzed the time-dependent failure probability of system and useful life of the maintenance action for one or multiple components, chosen the optimal maintenance strategy according to the extend useful life and mini cumulative maintenance cost. The results show that the optimal costs dependent on the system model.
