ABSTRACT

Excessive displacement deviation is one of the great harm of piers, which is a direct threat to the safety of the bridge. Because too large displacement of piers (including piers vertical and horizontal misalignment) easily lead to cracking of the concrete piers, the bridge piers may bring about stability and decreased operational safety issues. The piers with transverse and longitudinal displacement need to correction by installing lifting equipment and jacking force. To ensure the structural safety, the recovery thrust should be as small as possible and it needs only a slow return to the pier. A pre-stressed concrete continuous bridge is illustrated to carry out the recovery correction analysis of concrete piers.
