ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the ongoing issues of how to keep going, enlist support and reduce the risk and damage of future episodes of illness. The likelihood of early signs being picked up by professionals depends to a great extent on how often there is contact. In the early stages of a relapsing illness it may be best to negotiate regular contact and easy access to a professional. Anxiety feeds anxiety, and in the same way other emotions resonate in other people, reflecting their inner issues. How true it is that the peoples all have ‘issues’. The result is that some people whom the peoples might have expected to be close to the peoples in adversity turn out to have problems with our illness and react in unexpected ways.
