ABSTRACT
Good design and technology promotes independence for people with dementia and decreases the burden of care for families or health and social care workers. It can reduce the cost of care by postponing institutionalization and decreasing adverse incidents. In addition, because the dementiafriendly recommendation may even be less expensive than what the architect or planner would otherwise propose, the nancial savings for care providers can start even before the project is functioning.
