ABSTRACT

Informal carers (mostly spouses or children) are of great importance in dementia care. An informal carer is oen part of a ‘dementia family’. In that sense, their situation can be analysed in terms of burden, quality of life, coping,

stress, social network and morbidity (Max et al., 1995; Jansson et al., 1998; Schulz and Beach, 1999; Wimo et al., 1999b; Almberg et al., 2000; Etters et al., 2008; Raccichini et al., 2009; Muangpaisan et al., 2010).
