ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to provide an overview of bronchiectasis and will include: a definition, classification of the disease, causes, signs and symptoms, and the management of bronchiectasis. The presenting symptoms of bronchiectasis can reflect many respiratory diseases, but this chapter aims to heighten awareness of key factors leading to diagnosis and how understanding the pathophysiology of the disease can influence the management and quality of life experienced for individuals diagnosed with bronchiectasis.
