ABSTRACT

Peritoneal dialysis (PD) has been recognized as an important modality for renal replacement therapy (RRT) since it was rst used to treat children with acute kidney injury (AKI) in the 1960s. Its relative ease of administration has also been crucial to the successful treatment of infants and young children with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). is chapter provides an overview of PD that is pertinent to the clinical application of this RRT modality.
