ABSTRACT
To defend, not to attack. Anyhow to see further afield. To challenge the sky or to simply observe it. To call to prayer or to sound the alarm. To do anything an individual can do to serve its community. To look inside oneself and lift oneself above and away from the struggles of daily life. A tower can be used for all these things, a creation which sews together East and West and has its roots in the Bible and the Koran (Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you even if you are in tower built up strong and high. Sura IV, v. 78) and indeed in the origins of our common civilization.
