ABSTRACT

In April 2011, Peter Marshall was appointed Commissioner of the New Zealand Police, a police service of approximately 9,500 sworn ocers and 2,500 civilian sta. He joined the New Zealand Police in 1972 as a 19-yearold, and aer 26 weeks of recruit training at the Police College in Trentham, an industrial city approximately 40 km from Wellington, the capital city, he was posted to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city.
