ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Flat roofs, namely double-shell roofs with low high of ventilated air gap typically have several faults in light of thermal and moisture regime. The low surface temperature of upper construction and presence of hot and moist air from interior in the roof air gap causes condensation of water vapour on the cold constructions. The analyzed flat roof construction does not contain any vapour barrier. The aim of this paper is to gain pictures of airflow in the air gap of the roof and to determine the surface temperatures in the roof air gap. Due to the obtained results there will be specified points in the double-shell roof where the condensation may form. On the basis of this knowledge we will be able to modify the geometric of the roof, what can improve the function of this exposed structure.
