ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The condition and specification of pavement subgrades are essential for road design. Incorrectly determined subgrade deformation modulus can cause a collapse of the construction or permanent deformation in each course of the pavement. On the territory of Slovakia the modulus of deformation is mainly identified by static load test and progressively extended to other nondestructive tests which are not so time demanding and more efficient. Non-destructive methods for assessing the quality of earth structures are nowadays commonly used and the implementation progressive methods will ensure accurate diagnostic of existing pavements for the extension of life cycle. The paper is focused on theoretical modelling for specifying the suitability of nondestructive methods for a particular construction element and for the possible future determining of the correlation between each ordinary non-destructive test used in Slovakia.
