ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The paper is focused on the system identification of bridges by non-destructive dynamic methods. The main idea of this paper is to describe the present state of the issue in Slovakia. The measurements were focused on different bridge types, such as truss bridges, suspension bridges or beam bridges. The main topic of this article is to describe measurements on a suspension footbridge in Bratislava. In the first step the paper describes the development of the modal model. In the next step measurements are made by different types of accelerometers. All measurements are supported by surveying methods. The aim of the research is to develop a system for structural health monitoring. In the end of the article the influence of the parapet on the dynamic stiffness of the footbridge is described.
