ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: The Building Information Model Distance Learning Course was created for University applicants. The course is a part of pre-university education and a tool of University online marketing. We use Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University Virtual learning environments that based on Moodle. This allows secondary school students to prepare themselves to the University’s learning process and get them an outlook on the right choice of major. They use Autodesk Revit software for building and construction design. The results of the course are a three-dimensional model of a small two-storey residential building, presentation graphics, and a set of drawings in accordance with Russian construction standards. The training mission is actually a simplified version of the educational task of the first year students in Computer graphics discipline. Course graduators subsequently become successful Civil Engineering students.
