ABSTRACT

Training will be a constant and ongoing task for the data protection ofcer. It also needs to be maintained at a general level across the organization and followed up with more particular and nuanced training and awareness building designed to meet the needs of different units within the organization. The human resources (HR) section will have particular needs in relation to data protection understanding and compliance. The marketing and advertising department will undertake activities that sometimes bring them into potential conict with the data protection

regime. The data protection ofcer will need to be constantly aware of issues that may arise in terms of marketing, hence the need for ongoing data protection education in relation to marketing, consent, and related issues.
