ABSTRACT

Image Transmission Quality Assessment (ITQA) has become a popular topic of research intense over the last few years. Performance of ITQA over AWGN channel model with and without Raised Cosine filter is shown in this paper. In addition, for better transmission efficiency and achieving the required bandwidth, DCT and 32 cross-constellation QAM (C-QAM) modulation scheme is used. Furthermore, for measuring performance of image quality, PSNR and MSE are taken into account. The simulation results reveal that with lower signal-to-noise ratio, raised cosine filter exhibits better performance than employing no filter. Inter Symbol Interference (ISI), which plays an important role in image transmission, degrades the image quality, which may be eliminated by employing filter.
