ABSTRACT
The performance of a manufactured product is primarily decided by its surface quality. A better quality surface is characterised by the level of its surface finish. The manufacturing process used to produce a surface determines its surface finish level. Some processes are capable of producing better surfaces than others. The conventional processes recognised for good surface finish are grinding, honing, lapping, buffing, super finishing and polishing.
