ABSTRACT

This chapter demonstrates how organizational effectiveness can be assessed in an operative multinational environment. It shows some of the benefits from a single research organization's participation in a multinational research constellation such as that within the NATO Research and Technology Organisation programme. The chapter describes the work that has been carried out by the human factors and medicine panel (HFM)-163 research group and a theoretical model for organizational effectiveness that this group has developed. It also describes the Kosovo case study, which was conducted as an attempt to validate the model. In 2010, the HFM-163 Organizational Effectiveness model was tested in a case study in Kosovo Force headquarters in Pristina, Kosovo. The purpose of this case study was to investigate to what extent the input factors of the model had an effect on the operative goals, and also to find out which factors had the greatest effect on the goals.
