ABSTRACT

This chapter describes Collaboration Advizor Tool (CAT) twelve categories of team knowledge. The twelve categories are: Goal understanding, Understanding that plan, Understanding of relationships and dependencies , Understanding of other team members' backgrounds and capabilities, Understanding of team 'business rules', Task knowledge. It also includes Activity awareness, Understanding of the external situation, Task assessment, Mutual understanding, Plan assessment and Understanding of decision drivers. The chapter shows that the kinds of output CAT provide to help teams diagnose and fix cognitive problems. CAT captures this knowledge about knowledge enablers, risks, symptoms and importance multipliers in its knowledge base. In addition, the knowledge base stores methods that teams can use to correct knowledge deficiencies. The bar graph in the middle of the diagram indicates the diagnosed strengths and weaknesses of each of the twelve knowledge categories. Black bars to the left indicate potentially serious deficiencies in the knowledge areas.
