ABSTRACT

This research focus on effect of the flood detention and sediment desilting and the disaster loss with different water and sediment situation in the Lower Yellow River. With methods of theoretical studies, historical data analysis, mathematical model computation and physical model tests, this issue explores water-sediment exchange mechanism between channel and floodplain. The flood detention and sediment desilting function of the wide flood plain has been analyzed and the index system to be divided two parts and three layer for estimating effect of the flood detention and sediment desilting including 12 index and evaluation model have been constructed. The scheme of channel-floodplain optimal allocation and integrated disaster reduction measures have been raised. According to evaluation, the best operation scheme of wide floodplain considering flood prevention, silt alleviation and disaster reduction in future have come up. The model of the wide floodplain training in the Yellow River has been recommended.
