ABSTRACT

The North Branch of the Yangtze Estuary possesses tremendous potential developments with superior conditions. In recent years, influenced by human activities, especially activities on bottomland of the North Branch, the natural evolution rule has been broken. Flat form and flow condition are changed, and channel-fill volume is reduced dramatically. Researching river bed evolutionary regularity under the influences of human activities could favor the scientific decision-making of the North Branch’s comprehensive utilization.
